He inspired me. He is always trying to bring all Mariners more close to each other. He is the man for whom I could see the first computer in my entire life. What was the year ? Probably 1984. I was a Cadet on board the ship "Banglar Gourab", he was the 2nd officer. He bought a very simple PC in Dundee (Scotland). That was the first time I could know, there is something called computer. I don't need to mention his name, because he is so popular, so familiar among us. But for other visitors apart from Marine community, I must introduce him. He is the great genius Captain Abdullah..

Capt. Abdullah, Bhabi and Madol

    Although, it was many years after that, 2 years after my accident, I could play around with my own PC (1995). I learnt very fast. My brother taught me few commands of DOS, but now he is lacking in the knowledge of DOS. Now, computer is my life. I really enjoy computer. It will be real hard to live without it.

    Those were my comments. Now let's look at Capt. Abdullah's remarks as he corrected me through his genius reply to me, which proves his brain chips remarkable sharpness :

    I could not recognize myself on first sight. No, you do not need permission for publishing anything about me, which you find sensible.  Now;
    * It was Banglar Kakoli
    * It was 1985
    * You were the 4th or 3rd Officer on board, not a Cadet
    * It was a "Commodore C16" computer with 16k memory. Keyboard had the CPU inside. There were a cassette tape drive connection and a port to connect a color TV.

    You made me fly back to those old days.  I was lost for few minutes.
