In Short
The wheelchair project is aimed to help a disabled person. This is an unique initiative by Capt. Abdullah, who planned and implemented this project. Shahidul Alam, the disabled person used to be a Merchant Marine officer. A sudden diving accident left him paralized chest to down. In technical terms this phenomenon is called quadriplegic.
Capt. Abdullah was very touched to see Shahidul's condition whose mobility was apparently confined in bed and room. He boldly took a rather risky initiative to launch a donation project for him. The project was aimed at providing a power chair to the beneficiary person thereby increasing the scope of his mobility, supplying him with various accessories such as lift, ramp etc. which are crucial for a person in a chair. Also providing him with a continuous flow of nominal income from the profit of the remaining accumulated money.
For this he asked help from Bangladesh Merchant Navy Community, who responded remarkably. This is a great community as all the above goals are fulfilled, so the project is accomplished and done. The project proved to be of a great success and very satisfactory. By strong and strict commitment of Capt. Abdullah who launched the project, it was extremely transparent, so it was really meant for the reason for which it was planned.
This project has become a dream come true for many. Especially, for Shahidul this has become a milestone in his paralised life.
This site is all about this unique project launched by Capt. Abdullah for Shahidul Alam by Bangladesh Merchant Navy community.

It was a very noble and intelligent decision by the community to think about his mobility.
